There is a saying that you can train a cat to do whatever she wants. After 6 months of living with a cat, I can tell you that’s true. I tried to clicker train her: after two days of eating by the click, she turned her back to the food and refused to play my game anymore. I tried to get her used to be washed: I’m sure all my neighbours know that. I can see it in their eyes when we meet (you can’t imagine how a cat in water can yell). I had to pill her: this was my only success, after repeated trial - error successions. I wanted to leash train her: I thought I succeeded, but our first trip in the garden was a lousy failure (it is true that I made the mistake to choose a very hot and sunny day for that) . So I gave up any training on her, I decided to let her just be a cat and do what she wants (within some limits, though).
Yet, despite the communication difficulties between humans and cats, they are still our hilarious friends. So thinks Jonathan Deamer, who presents in our carnival The inherent hilarity of cats, saying “A post about the current online craze of “lolcats”, complete with a couple of funny pics. :-)” This just gave me the idea of playing some really loud hard rock music to my cat, maybe I can train her to shake her head like Mick Jagger.
Directly from Doug Green’s Garden, Doug is Introducing Kat, saying “Not a pet but a partner.” It will be interesting to find out how the garden will change after Doug and Kat become good friends. I noticed an incompatibility between cats and flowers, which makes me feel sorry for Doug’s nice flowers (I’m already sorry for mine).
Chris Dolley tells us about The Return of the Kai posted at Author Chris Dolley’s Page. Victorious after his first mission in the barn, Kai is happy and ready for new adventures. I suppose Chris could train Kai to wash the windows on the outside - little Kai surely has some abilities in this direction.
My good friend at Cendre de Roses announces her new litters of little Russian Blue wonders. The little kittens are incredibly cute! Unfortunately for our non-European readers, the kittens are not going to travel by plane, so you cannot book one (Europe residents can pre-apply for kittens on the site). Still you can admire their cute little faces in the pictures on the site. If I convince my friend to turn her site into a blog, we may have the chance to see lots of funny cat pictures everyday, as she has about 20 cats in her cattery.
Last but not least, look what kitten game I invented today: my kitty adores it - we can play it for many times in a row until she gets bored (or rather gets asleep):
