Beatles and biographies are some of the most searched terms online. Although The Beatles belong to our parents’ and grandparents’ generations, it seems that they still appeal to young people today. This is what I would call success: to manage to create something that is not fixed in time, that can easily travel across generations, and make parties successful.
The Beatles were a great group and they meant in fact a new, fresh spirit in those times when emancipation was only a daring thought for many. If you actually listen to the lyrics of Beatles songs, you’ll see there is no big deal with them. Love, love mo do, repeated for several minutes in a row is far from thoughtful and far from poetry, and far from anything. Also the music is childish, but despite all these, Beatles made it to the top.
After the big success they had together as a group, each member of the Beatles went on their own and created their solo careers, but they never sang together again. The music of the Beatles and that of each of them as solo artists continues to be played today. After John Lennon’s murder in 1980 and George Harrison’s death to cancer in 2001, the last two remaining members of The Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are still dealing with the music industry, but they are far from the success they had initially as a group.
