You communicate everyday, but did it ever occur to you that words are only a tiny part of your “speech”? A UCLA study revealed that up to 93 percent of communication effectiveness is determined by nonverbal cues. Another study indicated that the impact of a performance was determined 7 percent by the words used, 38 percent by voice quality, and 55 percent by the nonverbal communication.

Experts in communication acknowledged this fact, so probably all communication trainings nowadays contain a “non-verbal communication” or “body language” module.

There are a lot of good books on this, but for those of you who don’t feel like reading, I discovered this video showing you a few body language phrases and their “translation” into words:
