British Library launches mail archive for posterity

British Library email archiveAs e-mail has gained a lot nowadays against traditional letters, the British Library decided to archive a snapshot of present days communications and save it for future researchers.

“Digital archiving of email has never been attempted before on this scale and we’re very excited to be capturing such a rich slice of contemporary life.”

If you want to be part of the history, you can forward an email to email@emailbritain.co.uk from your “inbox” or “sent” mail that represents life as they you see it today. I wonder what percentage of this slice of life will be represented by spam?
