The first recorded IT professional seen at work

From the early times of history, IT professionals did their job pretty much the same way as they do today. Also the users did not change too much. This short movie is about explaining scroll users how to use a book. What do you think?

That is sooo funny! It reminds me of the first time I touched a computer.

Thank you for sharing such a funny video. We had great time watching it in our office. It is very similar to what we hear from users, and this comparison to a roll… “To turn pages takes longer than using a roll!”… :-)

Simonne, I prepared a review of your site as promised. Please take a look at it on my website. And some kind of link from your blog will be great.

Thank you so much, Alex. I’m going to read it right now. You’ll get the links right away, and perhaps a review of your site (in about a week time from now)

This beauty illustrates almost all the problems with tech support, from “Fear of starting” to “Fear of letting (the IT pro) go.”
Too bad that the first person to post this, wherever they did, was so UNprofessional that they did not include credits or reference for the source/artists in this piece. That’s what the content and license properties are for.
If anyone knows the source, and the story of the various languages, I’d sure like to see a comment — then, if not pirated, I can use it in beginner user training.

I’m sorry, I don’t know the source, otherwise I would have included it here. I would also be glad to hear from the authors.

Found it: Assuming the original language to be Norwegian, a search of “Norwegian TV” “IT professional” found a re-posting of the YouTube original called “Introducing the Book.” A followup NRK posting with English subtitles had the following info:
“Helpdesk support back in the day of the middle age
with English subtitles. Original taken from the show “Øystein og jeg” on Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) in 2001. With Øystein Backe (helper)and Rune Gokstad (desperate monk). Written by Knut Nærum”
    It is at
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=pQHX-SjgQvQ&mode=related&search=
and has the original ending about an equally unusable user manual that adds to the hilarity.
