The World Viewed From A Windowsill

cat eyes Welcome to the August 26, 2007 edition of 1001 Cats Blog Carnival. This is the last summer edition, with not so many protagonists (vacations have a big word to say on this one), but with the same amazing/funny/useful stories you’ve got used to read here.

Meet our today’s heroes:

NAOMI presents NURSING HOME CAT THE GRIM REAPER posted at Diary From England. Oscar the predicting cat is already a celebrity.

Blue Skelton introduces us to a Funny Cat Story posted at Blue Skelton Publications. I wonder how Blue managed to train the cat to behave like that.

Corinne Edwards presents A LOVE STORY – Sarah Mae Pussycat posted at Personal Growth with Corinne Edwards, saying, “This is a true story of a dear elder pussycat. We miss her.” Here’s a brief excerpt from this great poem, to give you some food for comments:

“What wisdom can you take away
if you have viewed the world
from a windowsill?”

I’ll try a few possible answers:

Maybe the wisdom of succeeding to live a happy life behind a windowsill…

Or the wisdom of not falling down…

Or maybe the wisdom of the observer, quietly seeing and letting go of all evils out there, enjoying the love of a cozy home…

What do you think? Is it wisdom we are after? Or is it rather happiness, whatever it may mean to each of us? Or money? Or fame?

Thank you for your thoughts.

If you have a great cat story and you want to share it, please submit it to the next edition of 1001 cats using our carnival submission form.

I am thrilled that you selected my poem about Sarah Mae Pussycat.

    Thank you!

I guess we could all debate the advantages of security and staying in a happy home.

    Sounds good to me.

Guess I will have to come back as a beloved pet to accomplish this!

Hi Corinne, I liked your poem so much! I thank you for submitting it to my carnival. I’m sorry about Sarah Mae Pussycat.

The windowsill debate could go on forever, as there are lots of arguments on each side. I was just curious of how my readers see this.
